Grit is perseverance and passion for long-term goals. Grit is conceptualized as a stable trait that does not require immediate positive feedback. Individuals high in grit are able to maintain their determination and motivation over long periods despite experiences with failure and adversity. Their passion and commitment towards the long-term objective is the overriding factor that provides the stamina required to "stay the course" amid challenges and set-backs.
IT'S a LIFESTYLE
If, as humans, we are able to slow down, be in the moment and communicate with dogs, we have the ability to improve lives all around. We must work to build these relationship.
You Must GET GRITTY!
Dealing with dogs and humans involves living beings that do not ‘speak’ the same language.
The ability to communicate between dog and handler is limited to the patience they each hold within themselves and their ability to want to understand each other. The ability the handler has to understand the dog does not necessarily comes down to experience, more often than not it is a developed intuition of how to communicate with each other. This has complete relevance to what is going on in todays society. Many have lost the ability to be able to communicate human to human. Often times this comes down to the increased dependency on electronics. When working with an animal, one must rely on instincts rather than the ability to ‘plug in' to something. By building this connection, humans have the ability to better all aspects of their life.
